Cleveland Browns: Caleb Brantley vs. Larry Ogunjobi

The Cleveland Browns picked twice in the first four picks in the 2018 NFL Draft, and made Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield the top overall selection. While a lot of the cameras will be on him to see if he can unseat Tyrod Taylor as the top quarterback on the depth chart this summer, it is likely he begins his NFL career on the bench.

Taylor is a good quarterback, and he has proven he can win games in the NFL. While he should be the man this season, Mayfield will likely take over in 2019, so Taylor will be looking for another place to play after a quick stint in Cleveland.

One battle that could have major playing time implications is up front on defense, where the Browns will attempt to replace Danny Shelton at defensive tackle. Both Caleb Brantley and Larry Ogunjobi will be battling it out for a starting spot along the defensive line, on a Browns team that should be improved over their 0-16 2017 campaign.

Brantley was a sixth-round selection of the Browns last year, and picked up two sacks in his rookie campaign. Ogunjobi was a third round pick of the team in that same draft class, and played sparingly, but will have every opportunity this summer to lock down the starting job in the middle.

This is a good problem to have for Cleveland, as there are two very young, and very talented players battling it out for playing time along the defensive line. Replacing a guy like Shelton will be tough, but it looks like this organization is finally starting to get some depth on both sides of the ball.
