Rangers at Mariners

Rangers Probable Starter – Mike Minor, LHP

5.63 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 21.2 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .219 average, .283 wOBA, 29.2 fly ball rate and 44.0 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .285 average, .380 wOBA, 45.5 fly ball rate and 40.6 hard contact rate

We were on the Mariners in a big way last night and that mostly paid off. Guillermo Heredia didn’t do much but I think I’m going right back to the well with Jean Segura and Nelson Cruz. For what it’s worth, the last time Segura saw Mike Minor was the game he stole four bases and almost hit 50 FanDuel points. I wouldn’t expect that outcome again at all, but Segura is the same price as yesterday. We’ll see how the slate shakes out through the day, but it’s likely Segura or Carlos Correa for shortstop tonight. I always want to play Cruz when he gets a lefty at home and he played well last night, even without hitting a home run.

Mariners Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Jean Segura, Nelson Cruz, Mitch Haniger

Secondary Options – Denard Span, Ryon Healy

Mariners Probable Starter – Wade LeBlanc, LHP

2.70 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 19.1 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .265 average, .312 wOBA, 39.3 fly ball rate and 27.6 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .233 average, .268 wOBA, 46.8 fly ball rate and 27.7 hard contact rate

This is sort of a poor matchup for LeBlanc but I can’t get too worked up for the Rangers hitters tonight. Jurickson Profar is the leader in wOBA against lefties but it’s odd to me because Profar averages 9 FanDuel points a game. Segura is over 12 points per and he’s cheaper, in a better matchup. It’s only a $100 difference but that’s part of why I gravitate towards Segura. Nomar Mazara hits lefties well and there are fly balls to be had. The hard contact numbers don’t exactly follow. LeBlanc isn’t as good as some metrics make it look but he’s not terrible either.

Rangers Hitters to Target

Elite Options – None

Secondary Options – Jurickson Profar, Nomar Mazara, Joey Gallo

Home Run Pick – Mitch Haniger

Sample Lineup

P – Jose Quintana

C/1B – Max Stassi

2B – Jose Altuve

3B – Christian Villanueva

SS – Jean Segura

OF – Hunter Renfroe, Mark Trumbo, Nelson Cruz

Utility – Jose Ramirez

There’s quite a few offenses in good spots and that’s why at first glance, I’m siding with Quintana so I have plenty of salary to spend on offense. I love Max Stassi as a cheap option and linked in with Renfroe, we have a lot of money left. Altuve and Ramirez are high end spends and the Mariners mini stack is just as appealing as it was last night. Trumbo is a cheap one-off against Sonny Gray but we’ll need to keep an eye on weather. Villanueva should be able to get a hold of one off of Chen and this lineup looks solid as things stand.

The Core – Max Stassi, Christian Villanueva, Hunter Renfroe

Stacks to Consider – Astros(vs Boston), Indians(at Minnesota), Padres(vs Miami) and Yankees or Orioles
