It may seem cruel to criticize any Philadelphia Eagles player after winning a Super Bowl, but these five stars need to pick their game up in 2018.

The best way to fall behind in the NFL is to rest on your laurels. Doug Pederson certainly understands this. That’s why he’s going to push every player on his Eagles roster to improve this offseason. Any player who doesn’t do his best to take his game to the next level could find himself on the bench.

The good news for Pederson and company is that there aren’t a ton of holes on the roster to fill. The team did experience some Super Bowl related turnover, but there’s still serious talent at Pederson’s disposal. The vast majority of the team’s big name stars are set to return in 2018.

These five stars will feel the most pressure to improve. If they don’t, it could stop the Eagles from having any chance to hoist another Lombardi Trophy. If these five guys do come through, Philadelphia could be even better this season.

5. Nelson Agholor

Agholor took a massive step forward last season for the Eagles offense. Even so, his numbers still fell short of what a potential number one receiver should provide for his team. He needs to take another serious stop forward in 2018.

The talented wideout hauled in 62 catches for 768 yards last year but he’s capable of doing more. It’s not as if Carson Wentz isn’t a top-shelf quarterback. Assuming his quarterback is healthy, Agholor needs to push that reception total closer to 80 next season.

The departures of Torrey Smith and Trey Burton should give him more responsibility. If he can pick up their slack then Agholor can become a Pro Bowl wideout. If he doesn’t, he may have to accept the reality that he’s only going to be a number two receiver for the rest of his career.
