Steph Curry brought everyone out of their seats with a 31-foot 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer.

Plenty of fans might be unhappy that we have to watch the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals for the fourth year in a row. But ultimately, it’s a blessing, because it just increases the chances of Steph Curry doing some really amazing Steph Curry things.

We didn’t have to wait very long for Curry to start making some magic from behind the three-point line. After what could be considered a wildly entertaining first half, in which Draymond Green attempted to rake LeBron James’ eye out of its socket like WWE wrestler, Curry channeled up the drama to close out the second quarter.

Trailing the Cavs 56-53 with just a little over three seconds left in the half, Curry took a quick dish from Kevin Durant and heaved up a toss from 31 feet out on the left wing. And as if anyone expected anything else, the ball found nothing but net, tying up the game 56-56 at halftime.

ESPN broadcaster Mike Breen summed up everyone’s feelings immediately after the shot by letting out a very long, “BAAAAAANG!”

With the exception of Curry draining an incredibly long three at the halftime buzzer, the heavily-favored Warriors had somewhat of a difficult time slowing down the Cavaliers in the first half. That may have had something to do with LeBron letting loose for 24 points in the half, while shooting 9-for-11 from the field.

The first half didn’t come without a little bit of drama, however. LeBron was halted in his tracks after taking a face full of Draymond Green’s fingers, with one of them clearly plucking him right in the eye. Green was called for a technical foul, and in typical Draymond fashion, he was furious about it.

The good news, however, is that it looks like we’re going to be in for a very physical series. Some people might be tired of seeing the Warriors and the Cavaliers in the Finals, but this is NBA basketball at its absolute finest.
