3. San Antonio Spurs

A lot of people thought that Paul could be traded to the Spurs last year. The vision is the Spurs recreating their former team is what people see. They see Chris Paul playing the Tony Parker role while LaMarcus Aldridge plays the Tim Duncan role. Of course, Manu Ginobili could continue to play the Manu Ginobili role.

Then, Paul’s signing would ideally convince Kawhi Leonard to stay with the team and suddenly, the Spurs would look very dangerous. Their starting lineup would be Paul, Patty Mills, Danny Green, Leonard, and Aldridge. From there, Ginobili and Kyle Anderson would lead a strong bench unit.

Aldridge had a resurgent season last year and is ready to do the same thing again. Now that he knows his role with the Spurs he has the ability to put up 20 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game again. A happy Kawhi could shoulder a lot of defensive responsibility while being able to create his own shot when needed.

The chance to play for a recent dynasty with one of the greatest coaches of all time should be something that Paul doesn’t pass up. The Spurs are a team that appears ready to be one of the best teams in the West next year, so Paul should join up while he has the chance. With Paul, they would have the best chance at beating the Warriors.
