The 2018 Belmont Stakes is over and we have another Triple Crown winner. Here’s the complete finishing order from New York.

With the Belmont Stakes in the books, the three biggest thoroughbred races of the year are over. And just like that, another Triple Crown winner — the second in four years — is named. Close behind — but never that close — finishing in the top four were Gronkowski, Hofburg and Vino Rosso.

Ten horses competed for a share of $1.5 million and a garland of white carnations. With Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes behind him, Justify raced for a shot at the Triple Crown as well — while the other horses (notably, not Audible) raced to spoil that dream.

Entering the race, Justify was the favorite with 4-5 odds, with the next closest competitor being Bravazo — who almost played Preakness spoiler — with 8-1 odds. Most of the field hovered around 12-1 and 30-1 odds, which didn’t make for an interesting question of who would win, but did provide some spice for trifecta and superfecta bettors.

Here’s the complete list of horses running the Belmont Stakes, in finishing order with morning odds and jockeys.

  1. Justify (Mike Smith), 4-5
  2. Gronkowski (Jose Ortiz), 12-1
  3. Hofburg (Irad Ortiz Jr.), 9-2
  4. Vino Rosso (John Velazquez), 30-1
  5. Tenfold (Victor Espinoza), 12-1
  6. Bravazo (Luis Saez), 8-1
  7. Free Drop Billy (Robby Albarado), 30-1
  8. Restoring Hope (Florent Geroux), 30-1
  9. Blended Citizen (Kyle Frey), 15-1
  10. Noble Indy (Javier Castellano), 12-1

Justify’s first place team will take home $900,000 of the $1.5 million purse, while Gronkowski’s second, Hofburg’s third, Vino Rosso’s fourth and Tenfold’s fifth place finishes yielded $300,000, $165,000, $90,000 and $45,000, respectively. Trainers and jockeys typically get a 5 percent cut while the winning trainer and jockey take home 10 percent.
