The San Antonio Express-News reports that the Kawhi Leonard/San Antonio Spurs rift might be closing. Let’s find a way to change that.

Let’s just cut to the quick. The San Antonio Express-News would like you to know that things are improving for the hometown professional basketball team. After a year fraught with rumors, and pain, and uncles, Kawhi Leonard and the team proper are talking again, presumably about things like “not hating each other” and whether New York pizza is better than San Antonio pizza. It’s a difficult call to make, and a decision best made in a group.

A source tells the Express-News that Kawhi has “96, 97 percent” recovered from his troublesome quad injury that held him out of all but nine games this year. He could well be ready for training camp, and sides are now apparently in enough agreement on pizza to be planning a meeting before the draft. Perhaps this means an extension, and an extension would simplify the situation over the summer for things like “wooing LeBron James” and “making other roster moves in general.”

This harkens back to last year when things were all testy with LaMarcus Aldridge. His status with the team going forward was unclear before Pop and he sat down over some pizza to work the situation out. Now Aldridge is happy or something, and he’s still on the team for a while.

Well, let’s make sure this doesn’t happen again. Kawhi Leonard was my pick for MVP last year and I bet actual fake money on it. That fake money is never coming back, so the universe needs to treat this as a personal slight against me, and you, as a member of the universe, are duty-bound to enforce this karmic justice.
