LeBron James is going to be a free agent this summer, and if you’re a gambling kind of person, then wait until you see who’s the odds-on favorite to land James.

After the Cleveland Cavaliers were brutally swept by the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, all eyes were on LeBron James — partly because of his broken hand that was in a cast as a result of punching a white board after Game 1. But it was mostly because with the end of the season comes James’ free agency decision.

It’s doubtful James will have another hour-long TV special to announce his decision, but you can be sure all Tweetdeck tabs will have Adrian Wojnarowski’s profile pulled up, constantly hitting the refresh button.

James has until June 29 to inform the Cavaliers whether or not he plans to opt out of his $35.6 million dollar option. NBA free agency starts on July 1. With that being said, who has the best odds to actually land the best player in the league?

Well, right now you can bet James to the Lakers at even money. While it might not be the most enticing odds, Vegas seems to always know something that we don’t. As we somewhat expected, the Philadelphia 76ers and Houston Rockets follow up the Lakers in terms of best odds.

This update in the odds comes after Gary Payton let it slip that James’ son, Bronny Jr., is going to be playing basketball at Sierra Canyon high school next year. Scotty Pippen Jr. and Kenyon Martin Jr. both play there as well. Obviously, we don’t know the validity of this, but it definitely adds fuel to the LeBron James fire.

Never underestimate the power of Vegas odds. We’ll see how this plays out this summer.
