The Whiteboard: Henny is the breakfast of NBA champions, apparently

The Golden State Warriors are not based in Sacramento, but they celebrated their 2018 NBA Finals win over the Cavaliers like kings.

Tuesday started with a tweet that almost seemed like it might be in jest, when Warriors rookie Jordan Bell let the world know he forgot his Henny at home before heading to the Warriors’ NBA championship parade.

Bell might have a natural turn up in him, but he and everybody else on the Warriors had lots of help from the various forms of alcohol available to them, including Hennessy obviously. While the tweets were a lot of fun, as all of the Dubs got loose and Draymond Green (unsurprisingly) had a lot to say, my personal favorite moment was Bell finding some more Henny.

Hennessy could not have imagined a better commercial than this. If Hennessy did plan this, it’s an incredible bit of viral marketing. I mean, how can you watch these celebrations and not want to go have a ‘Hennything is possible’ moment of your own (given that you are at or above the legal age limit to consume alcohol, of course)?

In all seriousness, these celebrations are cool. Golden State can seem a bit stiff at times, between so many people deriding them (and especially Kevin Durant) for forming a historic juggernaut and the pressure to keep on winning. Stuff like Bell roaming the streets in search of booze is humanizing. After all, who among us wouldn’t hop off of a bus to borrow some Henny?

Also, Stephen Curry absolutely rocked some limited edition shorts made out of his rookie jersey. Yes, they are for sale, for a cool $275 a pair. I think the Henny might be a better investment, especially if you’re interested in hanging out with Jordan Bell.
