Last year’s Laker rookies, Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma, became known off the court for using social media to roast each other, now the Lakers want it to stop.

Lonzo Ball came into the NBA expected to be a big name. Whether that would be due to his play on the court or his loud mouthed father, everybody knew he would make headlines with the Lakers. What wasn’t expected, was the roasts that he would trade with Kyle Kuzma online.

Trading insults was one of the ways he and Kuzma bonded. It seemed to bring them closer as they continued to escalate what they were saying. It started with Lonzo talking about Kuzma’s clothing and Kuz responding about Lonzo’s rap album. Roasting each other became part of their relationship.

Then, Kuzma began to get into it with LaMelo Ball, Lonzo’s younger brother. Once LaMelo said some, he could hold himself back from responding about LaMelo’s teeth. Kuzma got so good at it, Bleacher Report named him the ‘Player Hater of the Year’.

Now though, things have crossed a line in the Lakers eyes. Ball just released a diss track called ‘Kylie’ in which he goes after Kuzma, even discussing his relationship with his father. The Lakers are fed up with the actions of the two and have reportedly asked them to tone down their social media actions.

It’s likely that the Lakers want the two to begin to focus on basketball, and to avoid someone taking the jokes too far. The last thing the Lakers need is the two rupturing their relationship. So, they’re being the voice of reason for them. However, the Lakers still want them to have fun. Basketball is supposed to be fun, and if they restrict them too much it won’t be as much fun. It appears that as long as they keep their jokes off of social media, it will be okay. For now, they need the two to knock it off.
