The Philadelphia 76ers are poised to be major players in free agency this offseason, but who should they go after?

Fresh off their best season in a 15-plus years, the Philadelphia 76ers aren’t satisfied.

“I think another high-level free agent is required,” head coach Brett Brown told reporters during his exit interview in mid-May. ” … At some point, when the time is right, I think we need help to win a championship.

Help could be just around the corner, as the Sixers can carve out roughly $25 million in salary-cap space by renouncing their rights to all of their free agents this offseason. That won’t be enough to sign the likes of Paul George or LeBron James, but with a few minor moves — most notably either stretching Jerryd Bayless’ contract or trading him without taking back salary in exchange — Philly could have enough space to hand out a max deal.

While James and George figure to be the Sixers’ plan A and B, respectively, they’ll have plenty of other options on the free-agent market, too. From re-signing JJ Redick, Amir Johnson, Ersan Ilyasova and/or Marco Belinelli to targeting more wing and guard depth, Philly will need to round out its roster to vault into the realm of the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics.

Who should the Sixers prioritize in free agency? Let’s dive in.
