The Hamilton Bulldogs are OHL Champions. In their third season in the OHL after moving from from Belleville, they achieved more success than anyone could have expected. That success will come with a price, though.

With all the acquisitions the Hamilton Bulldogs made throughout the season, they picked up a lot of 19-year-olds. That means they will be overagers next season. A team is only allowed to have three of them. The Bulldogs currently have 10.

Needless to say, there will have to be some movement this offseason in order to comply with the rules.

Now, the Bulldogs will be helped by NHL teams moving their players up to the AHL next season. However, with OHL seasons starting a a couple weeks before the NHL, moves will have to be made regardless.

Let’s take a look at those 10 players and who will be returning and and who will not.

Goalie

Kaden Fulcher

This is the big situation for the Bulldogs this offseason. While they do have a more than capable backup in Nick Donofrio, will they want to bring back the goalie who got them all the way to the Memorial Cup tournament? Kaden Fulcher even won the best goalie award even though the Bulldogs were eliminated in the semifinals.

The biggest determining factor here won’t even be what the Bulldogs want. It will be what the Detroit Red Wings want. Fulcher signed with them mid-season and now could have a chance to move up to the AHL. With the Red Wings goalie situation messy right now, Fulcher could definitely earn a spot on the Grand Rapids Griffins.
