As part of the NHL Awards ceremony Wednesday night, the NHL revealed the 2017-18 postseason All-Star Teams, headlined by Taylor Hall, who received the Hart Trophy as the league’s most valuable player.

If you had the ability to assemble an NHL team in a fantasy draft with unlimited resources, it would look pretty darn close to the crew that makes up the 2017-18 NHL postseason All-Star teams, which were announced Wednesday night at the 2018 NHL Award as voted upon by the PHWA.

Heading up the First Team is Taylor Hall of the New Jersey Devils, fresh off earning his first-ever Hart Trophy as the league’s most valuable player. It was also the first time a Devil won the award in franchise history.

Hall finished the season sixth in scoring, with a career-high 93 points, which deviates from past winners. However, it’s clear that Hall, who propelled the Devils to their first postseason berth since 2011-12, was one of the most instrumental players in the NHL this season.

So you’re assembling this NHL dream team, and you’ve got your left wing. Who else is slotting into your top line? How about Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid and Tampa Bay Lightning right wing Nikita Kucherov? Not too shabby.

Add in top-pair defensemen Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings and Norris Trophy-winner Victor Hedman of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Vezina-winning goaltender Pekka Rinne and you’ve got a Stanley Cup winner for sure.

McDavid secured a place on the First Team for the second straight season, and Doughty makes his first appearance since 2015-16.

But the Second Team is nothing to sneeze at, either — boasting Nashville Predators defenseman P.K. Subban, who, it was revealed Wednesday night, will grace the cover of NHL 19 this year.

The other five players who were selected for the are the Winnipeg Jets’ right wing Blake Wheeler and goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, left wing Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers, defenseman Seth Jones of the Columbus Blue Jackets and center Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche.

The 2017-18 All-Rookie Team also gave us a glimpse of just how bright the NHL’s future is, with goaltender Juuse Saros of the Predators; defensemen Will Butcher of the Devils and Charlie McAvoy of the Boston Bruins; and forwards Mathew Barzal of the New York Islanders, Brock Boeser of the Vancouver Canucks and Clayton Keller of the Arizona Coyotes.
