Denmark face Australia at Samara Arena on Thursday, June 21. Here’s all the info you need to watch the World Cup match.

Denmark opened their World Cup with a 1-0 win against Peru. On Thursday the Danes play Australia, who opened the tournament with a 2-1 loss to France. Denmark likely advance to the round of 16 with a win on Thursday. However, if Australia win, the teams that advance will not be determined until the third game of the group stage is played.

Yussuf Poulsen scored the winning goal for Denmark against Peru. However, the game could have had a different outcome had Christian Cueva not badly missed a penalty. Denmark have an underrated defense that should prevent an Australian team that lacks great attacking options from getting good scoring chances. Jannik Vestergaard and Andreas Christensen played one season together at Borussia Monchengladbach, helping them develop chemistry playing together. Christian Eriksen will drive the Danes attack. If Eriksen plays poorly, Denmark will struggle to get the ball forward to their front three.

Australia played better than expected against France but still lost 2-1. While the Socceroos did score against France, they lack great attacking options in their front three. Matthew Leckie is Australia’s best-attacking player. Leckie has good pace but his finishing often leaves a lot to be desired. Aaron Mooy will dictate play in midfield for Australia. The Huddersfield midfielder will be responsible for marking Eriksen and breaking up Denmark’s attack before it can reach the box.
