The Philadelphia 76ers are doing everything they can to put themselves in the heart of the LeBron James sweepstakes.

For years, the Philadelphia 76ers have asked fans across the country to Trust the Process. And for the most part, they have.

The Sixers have done a complete 180 over the last few seasons, making themselves Eastern Conference contenders last season. The process is not yet complete. However, there is a free agent out there many believe could be the final piece to the puzzle.

Recent reports suggest Philadelphia is doing everything in its power to clear cap space in order to give LeBron James a max contract.

While Philly may fail to hold leverage in certain areas over its opposition, it’s hard to top a max deal. James has stated his family’s preferences as one of his main factors. However, money and estimated success are certainly going to play a part in where he takes his talents.

In Philly, he’d be teaming up with All-Star center Joel Embiid and Rookie of the Year favorite Ben Simmons. The star-studded cast would likely be favorites in the Eastern Conference and there is no one better than the best player on the planet to complete the process.

For this reason, Philly is willing to put all of its chips in play, but could the glamor of a max deal be enough?

James’ free agency has been at the NBA world’s epicenter for months, despite him not officially becoming a free agent until next month. After posting one of the best seasons of his career, it’s easy to see why.

There are many suitors for the King, but only a handful of realistic destinations. Although James has been fairly quiet regarding the issue, those teams know who they are.

Philadelphia knows it’s in the running. Philly has already had a Fresh Prince; could they soon have a King?
