Here are five players the Boston Celtics should have their eyes on this offseason.

If I would have told you that the Boston Celtics would come to within a quarter of the 2018 NBA Finals, without their top two players, you probably would have had me checked into a mental ward.

Heck, I would have committed myself.

That is exactly what happened, though, and the way the Celtics have been constructed under the guiding hand of GM Danny Ainge, this team is set up to finally push the Cleveland Cavaliers off of their pedestal and become the team to beat in the East for the foreseeable future.

The injuries to Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward was a blessing in disguise for the Celtics. Why? Because it allowed Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum to blossom as future All-Stars. The injuries also allowed Terry Rozier to show that he could be a top-flight point guard.

The experience of carrying a team and knowing how to win will pay huge dividends for Boston next season, and combined with the return of Irving and Hayward, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to say that the Celtics will be the favorites to get out of the East next season.

The Celtics are stacked indeed, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have some holes to plug up before training camp begins. Here are the five free agents the Celtics should target in the offseason.
