2. Where is Rob Gronkowski’s head at?

Rob Gronkowski might indeed be the best tight end in the NFL, and maybe the greatest tight end of all time, but the Gronk saga over the last few months has been intriguing to say the least.

Following New England’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII, rumors began swirling about Gronk’s future in the NFL. He apparently was contemplating retiring from the game, even though he’s still in the prime of his career at age 29. There were rumors that he had lost the desire to play football, and that he was more interested in pursuing an acting career in Hollywood.

Going even further, after Ronda Rousey became an immediate hit among pro wrestling fans when she joined the WWE earlier this year, there were even more rumors that Gronkowski wanted to leave the NFL so he could join the WWE as well. I’ll admit the character of Gronk would be fantastic in the WWE, but there will be plenty of time for that later, once he is past the prime of his football career.

Despite all of these rumors, Gronkowski was in no hurry to inform anybody of his future plans. He allowed everybody to just wonder what was going on with him for weeks, until he finally announced that he had met with Belichick and would return to the team for the 2018 season.

Now, I’m aware that Gronk might not exactly be the most normal person out there, but the fact that he put all of us through this saga really makes you wonder what’s going through his head these days. Heck, he didn’t even show up for any of the offseason programs, other than the mandatory minicamp.

Sure, he might be on the field this season wearing his ever-popular No. 87 jersey, but what’s he thinking? Is he truly committed to playing football? Or is he still pondering his future acting career, or his future wrestling career?

Of course, when he starts snagging long passes with one hand and scoring touchdowns, we might forget all about this.
