The Kansas City Chiefs are the reigning division champs, but after an offseason of moves there are so many questions left to be answered.

The Kansas City Chiefs made a plethora of moves during the offseason, some more puzzling than other. Now they’re going to look like a very different team this upcoming season. Even with the changes there are still some very familiar faces ready to suit up in August.

The Chiefs are going to get a huge boost on the defensive side of the ball in the return of All-Pro safety Eric Berry. Justin Houston will be a year healthier from the knee injury that cost him most of the 2016 season.

Even with the familiar faces on this roster that’s won 10 or more games in four of the last five seasons there are still some questions to be answered. Here are five burning questions for the Kansas City Chiefs in no particular order.

5. How will the secondary perform?

The Chiefs secondary has been somewhat of a enigma over the past few seasons. They haven’t really been a group that’s going to shut down their opponents passing game, but they always found a way to get it done.

Marcus Peters, a top-five corner in the NFL, was traded away this offseason, and now Chiefs fans don’t know what to do with themselves. Peters was the one corner that the Chiefs could always count on and now that he’s gone, who’s going to take his spot?

The Chiefs acquired Kendall Fuller from the Washington Redskins in the Alex Smith trade, but it doesn’t seem like he’s going to be playing outside all that often. Fuller was the highest-graded slot corner in the NFL last season, according to Pro Football Focus.

They say there’s no such thing as a sure thing, but for the Chiefs, Fuller is probably as close as it’s going to get. The return of Berry is going to be huge for this secondary, but outside of Fuller and Berry nobody knows what to expect when the season comes around.

Who knows maybe their sixth-round pick Tremon Smith can be something special.
