Detroit Tigers: Michael Fulmer

The Detroit Tigers are mired in another terrible season, and you have to think it is starting to look like they made need a makeover with this roster. It would take an absolute miracle for them to make the playoffs this season, so they should start to look at ways they can get better up and down this roster.

Since coming into the league back in 2016, Michael Fulmer has been nothing but a very consistent starting pitcher for the Tigers. Fulmer was the American League Rookie of the Year in his first season with the team, and is the kind of pitcher who can take the ball every fifth day and get the job done.

The problem is, the Tigers are basically wasting away in a very bad AL Central, and Fulmer has a career win-loss record that is under .500. For a guy who has won a Rookie of the Year one year, and been an All-Star in another, the time has come for him to leave the Motor City.

Dealing Fulmer would have to bring a bunch of assets in return, as he is still controllable for four more years after 2018. He has solid velocity, can pitch under pressure, and on a contending team, he could be a guy who could start Game 2 or 3 in the Divisional Round or Championship Series.

There are plenty of teams who have been linked to Fulmer, including the New York Yankees, who could give a wealth of talent back to  the Tigers in exchange for the right-hander. Fulmer is that good a pitcher, and on a contender, he could really show the world what he is made of.
