Houston Astros: Jake Marisnick

Once again, the Houston Astros are one of the best teams in Major League Baseball, and they could be headed towards a second straight World Series. The roster is loaded from top to bottom, and with the AL West seemingly already locked up, they can soon shift their focus on getting the roster playoff ready.

It is only July, so we have some time before that is the case, but there are some players at the Major League level that could be moved. While it would seem wrong to send away any player on this roster, as they have played so well, Jake Marisnick could be a name that would be moved if the Astros made a trade.

Marisnick is the Astros fourth outfield, and he has been downright horrible this season. Despite hitting seven home runs, Marisnick has done very little else, and currently see his batting average below the Mendoza Line. For those who do not know what that means, it means he batting under .200.

The rest of the Astros outfield is locked up, and there could be a chance they decide to add a different bat than Marisnick’s for the stretch run. He is only 27-years old, but his career batting average is below .230, and has to be considered one of the weak links in this Astros roster.

Houston could very well stand pat, as they pushed all the right buttons last season and ended up winning the World Series. It was pretty hard to find an Astros player to trade, but with how badly his bat has been this season, Marisnick could be the odd man out.
