The 2018 Tour de France begins Saturday and runs through July 29. Here is how you can watch the action online over the next month.

Part of the beauty of the Tour de France is that it provides action day after day. Drama builds upon itself as riders complete each stage. It offers an annual spectacle unlike few other sports as the world’s top cyclists compete in a variety of competitions.

What that means, though, is that the action takes place both during the weekends and during the work week. For many people in France, the month becomes a holiday stretching Bastille Day festivities over the entirety of July. Cycling fans in other countries don’t have such a luxury, though.

In the United States, the nature of cycling means that televised coverage starts right around the time many people are preparing to commute to work. Sometimes it falls right when people on the east coast are starting their workday. And for fans on the Pacific coast, race coverage sometimes starts as early as 2:00 am.

You might not get to catch every stage, but there are stages you definitely won’t want to miss. Even if you have NBC Sports Network at home, that won’t always cut it if you have to leave the house.

That makes online viewing options critical for Tour de France fans

Tour de France viewers in the United States have several options for how to catch the race online.

The first is to get an NBC Sports Gold package. With this option, viewers get access to an entire season of cycling coverage. This package includes the Tour de France, naturally. But it also offers the Vuelta a España in September, the UCI World Championships and fall classics, as well as next spring’s races leading up to the 2019 Tour de France.

The second option is FuboTV, which provides a month-to-month option through its FuboTV Cycling channel. You can begin with a seven-day free trial, and then opt for monthly packages that fit your sports interests. There are options that include cycling only, as well as a variety of other packages to stream a diverse range of sports channels.

With either option, you will get access to NBC Sports Network feeds of the Tour de France. FuboTV offers cloud recording options, while NBC Sports Gold offers full replays and highlights of all the action.

Remember, coverage start times change from day to day. Be sure to check for the right start time each night to make sure you don’t miss any of the action.
