44-year-old Terrell Owens might be heading to the CFL

Even though Terrell Owens is about to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he might not be done playing pro football.
Apparently, Terrell Owens hasn’t gotten his fill of professional football just yet. He officially activated his 10-day signing window with the CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos, as first reported by 3DownNation.com, and that gives the Eskimos until July 24 to either offer Owens a deal or release his rights.
This is a surprising move by Owens, and it will be interesting to see if he, or the Eskimos, actually decide to go through with this.
T.O. has been in the news quite a bit lately, but mostly for Hall of Fame-related reasons. He is to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio next month, but he has stated that he will not attend the ceremony – something that just hasn’t sat right with a lot of people.
Owens said that he will instead celebrate his Hall of Fame induction at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga – where he played college football – and a result, the Hall of Fame has since said that they will not recognize him at the ceremony.

As for the Canadian Football League, this is an interesting turn of events, mainly because Owens is 44 years old and will be turning 45 come December. It’s been eight years since he appeared in an NFL game, last playing for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010.
Owens spent 15 years in the NFL, and certainly had one of the all-time great pro football careers as a wide receiver. He is a six-time Pro Bowler, five-time First Team All-Pro, and led the league in receiving touchdowns three times.
