The Open Championship 2018 tee times: Thursday, Round 1

Here are the tee times for Round 1 of the 2018 edition of The Open Championship from Carnoustie.

For the final time, The Open Championship will be the setting for golf’s third major championship of the year — it becomes the final major next season when the PGA Championship moves to May — and there are plenty of storylines abound as Carnoustie plays host for the eighth time.

The golf course itself will certainly be a story as this has long been one of the most difficult courses on The Open Championship tour but 156 players will do their best to try to tame this always-interesting track. As always when it comes to this tournament, please take note of the time change. Carnoustie is five hours ahead of the Eastern time zone so if you’re looking to catch all of the action live, be prepared to either get up very early on Thursday morning or stay up late on Wednesday night, whichever works for your lifestyle.

World number one Dustin Johnson leads the field into Carnoustie this week and will tee it up alongside Alex Noren and Charley Hoffman, who always seems to have his name mentioned a few times during majors. Defending champion Jordan Spieth will be joined by Justin Rose and Kiradech Aphibarnrat and three-time winner Tiger Woods, who is returning to The Open for the first time in three years, will go off late in the day on Thursday with Hideki Matsuyama and Russell Knox.
