The WWE women have been given a chance to shine brighter than ever, as they will have their own exclusive PPV this October.

On the July 23 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Vince McMahon stood in the ring with WWE COO Triple H and the commissioner of Raw, Stephanie McMahon. They stood before the entire WWE Universe and unveiled a historic announcment.

Several days ago, social media started buzzing when it was revealed that Stephanie McMahon would be making a huge announcement this week. As we now know, that announcement centers around the women of WWE. On Oct. 28, WWE will host its first all-women’s pay-per-view from Nassau Coliseum on Long Isand. And fittingly, it’s name will be “Evolution.”

Triple H opened the show by stating how immensely proud WWE is of their female roster. They have gone from simple 30-second “filler” matches to main-eventing pay-per-views and having their cemented place within the WWE Universe.

This is a huge statement from WWE, which has put a lot of focus on the women in the last few years. It began during the “Diva” era, when a social media movement called “#GiveDivasAChance” started. It gained enough ground for management to take notice and allow them to show what they could do. And what they did was prove they deserved every bit as much as their male counterparts to have a place on the show.

That night, as Stephanie explained, all WWE women, then, now, and forever, will compete and showcase their talents. In addition, the finals of the upcoming 2018 Mae Young Classic will also be held that night. The last year has really been the tip of the iceberg when it comes to women such as Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss and Ember Moon. Now they get a night all to their own.
