MLB DFS Cheat Sheet – Draftkings 7/26
By Surge Singh
Welcome to the latest installment of our new daily series, a MLB DFS Cheat Sheet for DraftKings. Each article will include a Cheat Sheet followed by a corresponding slate summary to help assist players in constructing optimal lineups.
First off, a MLB DFS Cheat Sheet, when it comes to DFS, should never be used as the sole gauge when it comes to breaking down a slate. There is no substitute to extensive research and analysis collected from multiple platforms. However, a cheat sheet is primarily a great concise form of reference. It’s best used as an introductory guide in grasping an idea of your potential targets. Not to mention it’s very viable in constructing an initial build. Our MLB Daily DFS Cheat Sheet will list our projected top player at each position at three different price points, which will be labeled as “Tiers”. Each player listed will be paired with his current price and stats from their past 7 games including their Draftkings FPPG (fantasy points per game) over that span as well. Now enjoy our MLB DFS Cheat Sheet for Draftkings Thursday 7/26 Slate *Note: All stats provided by MLB.com and Pro Baseball Reference

DFS MLB Cheat Sheet: Slate Summary
Today’s Thursday night slate consists of 9 games. Last few days have been affected by weather, especially in the northeast. Luckily, only 1 game on today’s slate is worth monitoring. There’s potential for rain to play a factor in PNC Park where the Pittsburgh Pirates host the New York Mets. The game as of now should start on time but rain is expected to move on in through the latter innings.

One other huge note to make on this slate is Stephen Strasburg just got scratched and put on the 10-day disabled list due to a pinched nerve. Lefty Tommy Milone will start in his place. No Strasburg on the slate has huge implications as he was the clear ace on the slate not to mention the highest priced one as well. The next closest priced pitcher to Strasburg is Trevor Cahill at $9,900.
Basically, the pitcher position is a mess tonight. However there are some potential mid-range pitchers that are definitely worth targeting. Rich Hill and Sonny Gray are those options. The Braves lineup is definitely a dangerous one but Rich Hill looks to matchup nicely against a predominantly lefty lineup. In a small sample size, Hill sports a 22.9 K % with a 11.4 BB % against the Braves allowing a .204 batting average against. Sonny Gray is your typical high risk/high reward situation. With Gray anything is possible but the Royals current lineup’s .203 batting average and . 219 xwOBA against is enough evidence to gamble on him with.
Hitting is fun tonight, a weak pitching slate equates to great hitting spots. You can make a case for a lot of hitting stacks tonight but there’s 3 in particular that I want to be over the field on. Those 3 are Oakland LHH against RHP Bartolo Colon, Miami RHH against LHP Tommy Milone, and Philly LHH against RHP Tyler Mahle. Best part, they’re all relatively cheap.
Two economical hitters that I will have heavy exposure on and highly endorse are Jed Lowrie and Carlos Santana. Jed Lowrie sports a .417 batting average and .667 SLG avg against Bartolo. Combine that with the prime hitting conditions the Texas heat bestows, Bartolo might be toast. Santana has a .346 wOBA and .804 OPS against righties. Mahle allows a .280 hitting average and .550 SLG % to lefties. ADVANTAGE: Santana. Did I mention they’re facing off at Great American (Hitting) Ball Park. Lock Santana in and enjoy making the rest of your winning lineups!
