Antonio Brown wants Dez Bryant to join the Steelers

Antonio Brown and Dez Bryant together on the Pittsburgh Steelers? That would be a pretty dangerous offense.

The Pittsburgh Steelers already have one of the NFL’s best wide receivers in Antonio Brown, a guy who has been to five straight Pro Bowls and six total in his career. With the Steelers seemingly on the cusp of being a Super Bowl team, Brown wants his team to make a huge free agent splash by signing another one of the NFL’s premier pass catchers — longtime Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant.

Brown sent out a tweet early Sunday morning, tagging Bryant in it and telling him he should come to Pittsburgh so the two of them can go after a championship together.

This could be in response to recent reports that Bryant, a three-time Pro Bowler, is on the verge of joining another AFC North team, the Cleveland Browns, which would mean Brown’s Steelers would have to compete against him twice during the regular season.

But at the same time, adding Bryant to an already dangerous offense, featuring two-time Super Bowl champion Ben Roethlisberger at quarterback, would make the Steelers a force to be reckoned with.

In the last four seasons, Pittsburgh has made it to the playoffs but had its hopes dashed every time. More recently, the Steelers faced the New England Patriots in the 2016 AFC Championship Game and were blown out of the water, 36-17. Then last year, in what was a surprising upset, the Steelers were thrashed on their home field by the out-of-nowhere Jacksonville Jaguars in the divisional round. Adding Bryant would give them one of the most formidable offenses in the AFC, and it might just push them over that hump.

Meanwhile, Bryant has recently gone through a pretty nasty divorce with his former team, the Cowboys. Joining up with the Steelers and winning a Super Bowl next year would be a pretty good way to get his revenge.
