When the Denver Broncos were the best team in football, it was their defense that led the way. The Broncos had the best secondary in the NFL with their No Fly Zone defensive backfield, and Von Miller was basically unblockable when they went on their Super Bowl run that ended in a victory in Super Bowl 50.

It seems like ages since they hoisted the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and the product they have put on the field has not been good. Since Peyton Manning retired, the team has yet to bring in a formidable player to be their quarterback, although they may have found their man in Case Keenum.

During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos selected Bradley Chubb in the first round, as they nabbed arguably the best defensive player the draft class has to offer. He is an absolute lightning bolt on the edge, and with the team still employing guys like Miller and Brandon Marshall on defense, this Broncos team has the talent on defense to be dominant once again.

The Broncos are only going to go as far as Keenum leads them, but the combination of Miller and Chubb this season has to be a scary one for opposing quarterbacks. Many feel the Broncos will finish near the bottom of the AFC West, but if Chubb is as good as advertised, teams are going to have a very hard time scheming against their defense.

Chubb is a guy who could be a double-digit sack player as early as year one, and if that is the case, he is definitely their breakout player for the 2018 season.
