Welcome to the first edition of PGA DFS Golf Fanduel Targets from FantasyCPR.com. Here you will find players to target for this weekend’s action, geared for cash games and tournament plays on Fanduel.

In this article, I will present to you some players to consider from each price tier for PGA DFS action. Some plays will be geared toward cash games, and some for GPP. Some of course will also technically qualify as both. As we break each play down, I will be sure to specify which type of contests I am targeting that player in. I will give two players to target from the $11K-$13K range, two from the $9K-$11K range, two from the $8K-$9K range, and one GPP flyer for under $8K. Before we get to the targets, let’s talk about this event a bit.

About the Event:

The WGC-Bridgestone is a yearly invitational no-cut event, that takes place at Firestone Country Club in Akron, OH. The world’s best will be in action, and this should be a very competitive event. Firestone is a challenging course from all fronts, and plays at Par 70 and 7400 yards. Hideki Matsuyama was the victor here last year, but this course has been dominated by a few other players as well in this field. I am sure by now you have heard Tiger Woods has won here an incredible eight times. Add to that the fact that he is coming off of back-to-back top 10’s, and I think it is safe to say he will be in contention. This is the Tiger a lot of us have been waiting for. Remember no cut here this weekend, so stars and scrubs will likely make for a good build for GPP’s! That said, let’s find out who to target.

PGA DFS Top Tier Targets: ($11,000 – $13,000)

Justin Rose – $12,300 – (Cash/GPP)

Do you think Dustin Johnson can do it again? I personally do not. Rose is just more consistent than most of the top options, and he is always in contention. He has five top 5’s here at the Bridgestone, and is riding a current streak of four top 10’s. He is a lock for my cash games, and I will also be sprinkling him in here for GPP’s

Tiger Woods – $11,300 – (GPP)

It’s been a few years, but we all know what Tiger has went through since 2013 when he notched his record eighth victory here at Firestone. The fact that he has looked like vintage Tiger for the last couple weeks has me rapidly clicking the lock button on GPP’s here. I think the ownership will be high, but I am picking him to make it nine victories here. There is still that slight doubt in the back of my mind, so I may stick to safer plays for cash games, considering this field.

PGA DFS: Mid Tier Targets: ($9,000 – $11,000)

Zach Johnson – $9,800 – (Cash)

He feels like he is kind of sneaking under the radar a bit, but maybe not. He shouldn’t be that is for sure. Johnson was my second click after Rose when making my cash lineup this week, and I love the value he presents at this price in this field. After a lackluster May where Johnson was off of his game, he gathered momentum and has rattled off four straight top 20’s. Add the fact that he was the runner-up here at Firestone last year, and I think he might be the safest play on the board.

Alexander Noren – $9,900 – (GPP)

Another model of consistency as of late, the 36-year-old swede comes into Firestone slightly being overlooked in my opinion. He only finished T-28th here last year, so maybe that is the deterrent compared to some of the success others in the field have had here? I am not sure. Noren has been fantastic over the last couple of months, accumulating three straight top 25’s. He finished T-25 at the US Open, and followed that with a T-17 at The Open. While I think he will be safe for cash games, I don’t think you will see a consensus on that. Therefore, I can only recommend Noren for GPP this week.

PGA DFS Low Tier Targets: ($8,000 – $9,000)

Thorbjorn Olesen – $8,100 – (Cash/GPP)

If you read my DRAFT article you know I am all in on the Dane this weekend. He does not play on this side of the pond much, but he is ranked 57th in the world. Olesen has five career victories on the European Tour at just 28-years-old. His most recent coming in June, where he edged out the red hot Francesco Molinari to win the Italian Open. He is a great source of salary relief this weekend, considering we are guaranteed four rounds from a solid player.

Pat Perez – $8,600 – (GPP)

With Perez, it is all about what else we are working with in this price range. Perez was good at the Open, notching his first top 20 since early March. He was also really bad here last year, probably wishing this was an event with a cut. He did end up +10, but the weird thing is, his game actually fits this course. I don’t think Perez will be in serious contention here, but I think his recent form suggests we could possibly at least see a top 25. Pretty risky low ownership play I am guessing, but I will have him in a couple GPPs’

*GPP FLYER – Anirban Lahiri – $7,700
