The Best of the Rest

Things within the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver corps are questionable at best. Allen Hurns has struggled with injuries, Deonte Thompson is a solid No. 4 receiver while Tavon Austin is a gadget player.

This leaves a huge opening for rookie Michael Gallup. He’s a big-bodied target who has a knack for making plays down the field.

It’s not crazy to say that he has the potential to be the most productive rookie in this year’s class. They key for him will be climbing the depth chart and developing a feel with Dak Prescott. The others ranked ahead of him have clearer roads to playing time.

Thing are going to look very different for the Denver Broncos this year. They have a new quarterback in Case Keenum and an open competition at the running back position.

The wide receiver corps should get a boost from two talented rookies. DaeSean Hamilton and Courtland Sutton bring different things to the table but both have a chance to carve out a role this year.

Hamilton is a savvy route runner who can locate holes in the defense. Look for him to make most of his damage across the middle and underneath.

Sutton is a big target who has elite physical traits. He’s someone who can work deep down field and win in contested situations. His skill set mirror’s Demaryius Thomas who has had a rocky past few seasons.
