25 of the most swoon-worthy romance movies of all time

P.S. I Love You
If you like crying throughout an entire movie, this is the one for you (but I promise it’s not all sad tears). P.S. I Love You is easily one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time and I might actually stop writing this just to watch it one more time.
It’s clever, meaningful and the connection is so incredibly real, it will feel like you are watching home movies, rather than a Hollywood created romance.
The story is of Gerry (Gerard Butler) and his wife, Holly Kennedy (Hilary Swank). When Gerry dies, Holly moves into a deep depression and her life begins to spiral downward (don’t worry I didn’t spoil the movie he dies in the first 15 minutes). But little does she know, Gerry planned ahead and beginning on her 30th birthday, she receives the first in a series of letters written by him, designed to help her cope with the death and move on. The letters ask Holly to do things and travel, in hopes of helping her become independent and say goodbye to her late husband. But do the letters do more damage than good? At some point the letters will have to stop and what will Holly do then? You’ll have to watch and find out!
Let me just warn you, each time a letter arrives you will cry along with Holly so either invest in some Costco-sized Kleenex or just give up and sit in a pool of your own tears.
Fun Fact: Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe from Friends) is in this movie! Also, this is an adaptation of a novel (which I’ve been told is VERY different from the movie). According to IMDB, all of the letters are the same in the book and the movie.
