Ranking every Premier League team’s new kits
12. Leicester
Leicester start their partnership with Adidas this season, and the initial results are promising. The home kit is a very clean blue and white with gold accents. It can be rough for teams to go from one manufacturer to another, but it’s hard to mess up a jersey like Leicester’s. Puma usually opted for a bigger emphasis on gold when it was Leicester’s kit supplier, but it could sometimes be a bit much. Last season’s kit with gold stripes on the shoulders was an example of an element that could have been slightly more subtle.
The away kit is an example of a risk paying off. It’s a grey and orange number that manages to stand out without being too reliant on a gimmick. The checkerboard pattern is clean, and the orange Adidas stripes work well with the grey. Leicester wore a black away kit last season, but it didn’t seem to bring them much success away from King Power Stadium. The Foxes were fairly average away from home last year, losing nine of 19.
King Power remains one of the more aesthetically tolerable sponsors in the league, with its clean font and subtle logo. It’s been a perfect fit on the Foxes’ kit for some time now, and 2018-19 will be no different.
Their home kit looked fairly similar in their title winning season of 2015-16, but it would likely take a miracle to reach the heights of that special, magical season again. Leicester might not be able to take the world by storm with their play in their new kits, but they will be quite the stylish bunch.
