Wrestling legend Rey Mysterio recently discussed his current status with negotiating with the WWE about a potential return to the company.

With all the speculation regarding the possibility of whether or not Rey Mysterio will be returning to WWE soon, there’s an update. Mysterio recently took part in an interview with the Miami Herald, to which he was asked on the current status between him and the company. Mysterio stated that while he and WWE are still negotiating on a return, nothing at the moment has been signed yet on when he might be coming back.

“We started off with the Royal Rumble at the beginning of the year in January,” Mysterio explained.

“There was another offer on the table to do the Greatest Royal Rumble, and in between those two events, we’ve been going back and forth in conversations, trying to work out the right deal. It’s still up in the air. Nothing [is] secure, yet.”

Mysterio also discussed what if feels like to be part of the upcoming WWE 2K19 video, stating on what a humbling experience it is for him and the amount of respect that was given towards him.

“It was very nostalgic. It was humbling. To see the amount of work that was put in by WWE to get this product out. To do things like they always do, top notch. My respect goes out to those who paid respect for Rey Mysterio. Whether it’s The Miz saying ‘He’s a pest,’ that’s a form of flattery from his end, a form of paying respect to what I’ve done for almost three decades.”

Since Mysterio isn’t getting any younger, fans need to ask themselves the following: if Mysterio can find a way to return to WWE, exactly how long will he be sticking around for? And with all the past injuries Mysterio has had, it could be something where his potential return to WWE may be heavily hyped up, but may not execute in the right way.

Hopefully Mysterio does what’s best for himself and his fans in terms on his wrestling future.
