5 bold Premier League predictions: Emery triumphs over Guardiola
3. Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah pick up where they left off
Last season, Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah had their own personal battle for the Premier League Golden Boot. Kane was pipped at the post by the Egyptian but the Englishman did suffer an injury setback at the end of the season.
The two talismanic figures are sure to be back firing in goals for their respective clubs in 2018-19, and if they both stay fit there’s almost no stopping them. The question will be who can push on past 30 and 32 and head for 40. Both players are capable of scoring freely and it would be a surprise not to see their names on the score sheet most weeks.
On opening weekend, Tottenham face a difficult trip to Newcastle in Saturday’s early kickoff, while Liverpool welcome West Ham to Anfield. Neither of these games will be easy but if both Tottenham and Liverpool play to their full potential they should walk away with all three points.
If they don’t, they can maybe rely on their fantastic attacking threats to come up with a piece of magic. Whatever happens, we expect both Kane and Salah to get back to scoring ways.
