Southampton face Burnley at St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 12. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

The Premier League season begins this weekend. Southampton host Burnley at St. Mary’s Stadium. Southampton finished three points above the relegation zone last season and will hope to be significantly better this year. Burnley were the most surprising team of the season. Sean Dyche’s side were incredible defensively, finishing seventh and qualifying for Europa League.

Southampton were not the busiest clubs in the summer but did sign signed Jannik Vestergaard and Mohamed Elyounoussi. Vestergaard replaces Virgil van Dijk in the middle of the Saints defense. The towering defender teases fans with his potential but has is still too mistake-prone to be a great defender. Elyounoussi will add a creative offensive player to a Southampton attack that scored only 37 goals last season.

Burnley looked primed for regression this season. Last season, Burnley surprised everyone, maintaining seventh place the whole season. The Clarets added three players in the summer transfer window, all of whom will likely play roles this season. Joe Hart will likely start on Saturday with Nick Pope and Tom Heaton sidelined with injuries. The former first-choice keeper for England has struggled in recent seasons after losing his job at Manchester City. Following disappointing loan stints at Torino and West Ham, Hart will look to get his career back on track at Burnley.

The Clarets might have been one of the best defensive sides last season but they were poor offensively. After scoring only 36 goals last season, the fifth fewest in the Premier League, Burnley signed Matej Vydra. The Czech striker scored 21 goals last season with Derby County in the Championship. Burnley’s third signing of the season was center-back Ben Gibson who could challenge for a spot in the starting XI.
