New York Giants – Cody Latimer

The Giants are hoping to rebound after a disappointing season. The offense lost a bunch of players to injury and the team seemed to be at odds with the front office. Needless to say, there is a new coach in town and the Giants will be a better team this season. With Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, and now Saquon Barkley the offense looks to be very effective. Just how much the team improves remains to be seen.

Cody Latimer is a guy to keep an eye on. While he may not have had the best time in Denver, you have to look at the offense he was in. Trevor Siemian and Brock Osweiler on their best days are not as talented as Eli Manning on his worst. Latimer will see plenty of single coverage in this offense and is a good red zone target. I look for him to put up points in the red zone in against mismatches.

New York Jets – Jordan Leggett

The Jets did an admirable job last season. They were competitive and won some tough games. Personally, I like Todd Bowles. I believe that if this team’s young players can progress like they are supposed to, this is a team that could surprise again. However, it may be a while before they will be a contender. They have a good defense and a young offense. It will be interesting to see where they finish the season.

Leggett was a fifth-round pick in 2017. Unfortunately, he missed last season due to a knee injury. While he is not the declared starter for week one, he should be. With ideal size and great catching ability, he could be a big boost to the offense. Leggett was a mismatch for almost anyone trying to cover him in college. If he can improve on his fundamentals, he could be one of the league’s premier tight ends.
