The NFL season is finally upon us with preseason action galore, but which 10 quarterbacks are the ones you should hone in on for your team? We discuss.

Today we are ranking the top 10 fantasy quarterbacks for 2018. It is important to remember that this is not necessarily based on their overall talent at the quarterback position, but rather how many fantasy points they will produce.

No. 10 – Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

There is a lot of hype surrounding Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City. Although it would be difficult to live up to the hype that the Chiefs fanbase has for him, he is definitely set up for success in his current situation. With explosive weapons such as Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Travis Kelce, and Kareem Hunt, the Chiefs offense has a chance to be special.

Because of his very strong arm, Mahomes likes to stretch the field. With head coach Andy Reid calling plays, it seems likely that the Chiefs will run a lot of spread style formations. Because Mahomes came from an “Air Raid” system at Texas Tech, Reid will likely implement aspects of that system into his offense. Because the offense is so crowded with weapons, Mahomes stands the best chance of being the Kansas City Chiefs top fantasy option.

No. 9 – Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be an interesting team to watch. If the team was ever going to overtake the Patriots for the AFC title, the time is now. The Patriots seem a little weaker, at least on the offensive side of the football. Along with players aging, the team is without Julian Edelman for the first four weeks of the season, leaving no clear-cut number one receiver.

If the Steelers are going to take control of the AFC,  Ben Roethlisberger will be a big part of it. The Steelers have arguably the best wide receiver in football, Antonio Brown. Lined up with the rookie sensation of last season, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and All-Pro running back, Le’Veon Bell, the Steelers offense is set for success.

Roethlisberger is not a mobile quarterback and will not gain many rush yards. However, he will throw the ball enough times in this offense to make up for it. He is known for standing strong in the pocket and delivering strikes deep down the field. Look for Roethlisberger to have a big year.
