The Pittsburgh Steelers make a visit to Lambeau Field on Thursday night, where two perennial contenders will meet in their second preseason games.

For Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rodgers, their ultimate experience against each other will forever be Super Bowl XLV, with the latter winning what was one of the better Super Sundays in recent memory.

On Thursday, Roethlisberger will be watching from the sidelines, getting ready for what should be another run at the title. He is in the league’s concussion protocol after taking a shot to the head during practice earlier this week, knocking him to the ground. Rodgers, meanwhile, will be playing in his first preseason action of the year, although don’t expect much more than a series or two.

The Packers and Steelers are both teams built around their quarterbacks, with both rosters have serious question marks on the other side of the ball. Green Bay did a nice job building up its defense this offseason with the signing of Muhammad Wilkerson and the drafting of corners Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson, but uncertainty remains. Pittsburgh did little to upgrade it’s group despite the major loss of linebacker Ryan Shazier last December to a spine/neck injury.

Pittsburgh and Green Bay aren’t slated to play in the regular season, but there will be some picking the two foes to match up once more come February at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
