The Colorado Avalanche are a young team filled with plenty of talent. As they build out their line combinations for the year, they will have top players to work with. They are hoping to build off a surprising run last season that filled them with hope and optimism.
This year, the organization will have a similar roster to play with. Most of the same players will return in 2018. The Avalanche did try to improve their team, making some small moves this offseason. Here is what the line combinations look to be.

Gabriel Landeskog-Nathan MacKinnon-Mikko Rantanen
The first line projects to include Gabriel Landeskog, Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen. This looks to be the strongest line combination up top. They were the top goal scorers on the team last season. They hopefully will build on that this season. They look to receive a lot of minutes and score a lot of goals.
Tyson Jost-J.T. Compher-Sven Andrighetto
The second line will most likely feature Tyson Jost, J.T. Compher and Sven Andrighetto. This line has some good young players who know how to get the puck in the net. Compher and Jost impressed last season and hope to build on that. They should play quite a chunk of minutes.
Carl Soderberg-Alexander Kerfoot-Matt Nieto
The third line figures to showcase Carl Soderberg, Alexander Kerfoot and Matt Nieto. This line should provide solid depth, and that will help the Avalanche balance their minutes. It was one of their best lines last year. This line earns some veteran presence form Nieto and Soderberg.
Gabriel Bourque-Dominic Toninato-Colin Wilson
Gabriel Bourque, Dominic Toninato and Colin Wilson compose the fourth line. This will be the line that helps round out the team. They will probably play the least amount of minutes, but they are capable of contributing to the team in a big way.
