MLB DFS Picks: Batted Ball Stats
Brett Gardner – DK $4400, FD $3100
Brett Gardner is not only extremely underpriced on FanDuel tonight, but he’s on the good side of a lefty vs. righty split, and has been hitting the ball much better of late. By looking at his fantasy production you may not be able to tell so, but his plate appearances have been stronger than normal. In the last 15 days, his batted ball distance is up 25 feet, his exit velocity is up 3 MPH, and his hard hit percentage is up 9%, over his yearly average.

Batter Splits
Bryce Harper – DK $5400, FD $4500
Bryce Harper will draw an attractive matchup tonight, as he faces the righty, Dan Straily. Harper is much better against right-handed pitching, with a .382 wOBA split (.021 better than when facing a lefty) and a .276 ISO split (.060 better than when facing a lefty). Harper is extremely expensive of both sites, but should be considered if extra salary is available.
Didi Gregorius – DK $4700, FD $3900
The total for this game has been creeping up all day, and Didi Gregorius could be a beneficiary. Didi will draw an advantageous matchup tonight as he faces the righty, Marcus Stroman. Did is much better against right-handed pitching, with a .341 wOBA split (.015 better than when facing a lefty) and a .220 ISO split (.062 better than when facing a lefty).
Stolen Base Upside
Whit Merrifield – DK $4000, FD $3600
Well, Whit Merrifield wasn’t able to get it done on the base paths last night, but he’ll find himself in another interesting matchup tonight. Merrifield will face the righty, James Shields, who has surrendered 14 stolen bases over the course of 157 innings pitched this year. This should benefit Merrifield who has stolen 26 bases this year, tied for sixth most in the majors.
