Jon Gruden is hoping to show a little more consistency with his offense this week as the Oakland Raiders face the Los Angeles Rams.

The Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Rams are teams in two different positions. Los Angeles is just looking to stay healthy and round into form. The Raiders are trying to establish a new feel under Jon Gruden’s leadership.

The Rams starting lineup is pretty much set expect for the fact Aaron Donald still hasn’t reported to the team. It will be interesting to watch how the new collection of secondary pieces are able to gel. That group has a lot of big personalities.

For Oakland, it’s all about the offense becoming more comfortable with Jon Gruden’s playbook. He’s known for having a sophisticated attack that puts pressure on his quarterback.

Derek Carr is coming off a disappointing season and is looking to get back on track. He has a few new weapons in the mix with Jordy Nelson and Martavis Bryant. An interesting situation has developed at left tackle where rookie Kolton Miller is challenging Donald Penn.

Sleepers to Watch

Los Angeles has some holes at the linebacker position which could open the door for rookies Justin Lawler and Micah Kiser to grab some playing time. This is why the preseason is so important because it gives guys like this a chance to emerge.

Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin are the veterans at the running back spot. However, neither played really well last year. The Raiders could be searching for a spark from that position which could come from DeAndre Washington.
