Fantasy Football Off-Season Overview ā New York Giants
The New York Giants are a team in transition, looking to make a quick return to relevance in the NFC East.
Ben McAdoo is out as head coach, and Pat Shurmur is in. Eli Manning is going to remain the guy, at least for this year, since the Giants didnāt do anything to address the quarterback position, despite their high draft pick.
Instead of drafting the heir apparent to Manning, the Giants went the ground route, taking Saquon Barkley. The Penn State product has the chance to be a very special running back, and heāll get plenty of opportunities to prove it right out of the gate in New York.
Wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr is in a contract year, and after a dispute over wanting a new deal, opted to report to training camp instead of holding out. Beckham will look to jump back into the upper echelon of NFL receivers after his 2017 season was cut short due to injury.
Beckham and TE Evan Engram are two nice targets for Manning, with Barkley providing a security blanket for underneath throws. Along with Sterling Shepard, if Eli struggles, it wonāt be because he didnāt have enough weapons on offense.

I Gotta Get Me One of Those!
Saquon Barkley is being drafted as somewhere between the 5th and 7th running back in most mocks. Itās always scary taking a relatively unproven player, but itās hard to predict anything but a rousing success on this one. Heās going to get the volume, and he has all the talent in the world to do the absolute most with it.
Buyer Beware
They might put me in a straight-jacket for this one.
Odell Beckham Jr is typically the 3rd wide receiver coming off. Maybe 4th depending on how players in your league are valuing him. But, definitely a late first round prospect.
I think you should let someone else make that investment.
Donāt shoot the messenger.
Beckham has put up great numbers, but they decline year-to-year. His average yards per game has gone down every year. And I donāt 100% trust him to stay healthy. Maybe itās just a hunch, call it what you want. I think he can be good. I think he can even be very good. But Iām not risking a top round pick; Iāll let someone else roll the dice on it.
Stay Woke
Itās a DEEP sleeper, I give you that. But Kalif Raymond has turned heads in New York. Normally a receiver, heās gotten running back work since the Giants are light there on the roster. But, heās making an impact, and if he does well the rest of the summer, could find himself carving out a role on the Giantsā roster.
