BIG3 has officially announced its 2018 Player Awards with Power Captain Corey Maggette being named league MVP and Player Captain of the Year.

The former L.A. Clipper was always synonymous with getting into the lane, posting up, and powering his way into inevitable fouls/free throws is now BIG3’s league MVP. It’s 2018 and players still don’t know how to stop the man known as Corey Maggette… And they likely never will. Maggette has led his Power team to the BIG3’s league best record in a spot in this Friday’s Championship game in Brooklyn. He finished just 2 points away from the regular season scoring title, second overall in assists, tied for third overall in rebounds, and top-10 overall in both 3-pointers and steals. Tri-State’s David Hawkins received the second most votes, and finished his season going the top 5 in points, rebounds, assists, and steals… Before his team fell to Maggette’s Power in the BIG3 Playoffs.

Former WNBA star “Lady Magic” Nancy Lieberman (and current assistant coach of the Sacramento Kings) was named Coach of the Year, leading her Power team to the number #1 seed. Lieberman will have an opportunity to win a coveted championship with the Power over in Brooklyn this Friday. Seattle Supersonics legend Gary Payton earned the award of Best Trash Talker, an award he was born to win. Payton has always been one of the world’s great trash talkers on the court, sparing no one. Not even the G.O.A.T himself, Michael Jordan. Last year’s winner Stephen Jackson tied for second this year with Nate Robinson.

Andre Emmett of 3’s Company earned the award of 4th Man, finishing the regular season in the top 5 of points, rebounds, assists, and steals after Co-Captain Baron Davis was injured midseason. During the BIG3 playoffs, Emmett scored a career high 27 points, leading 3’s Company to victory. Trilogy Captain Al Harrington won the Too Hard to Guard award for the second year in a row! He led Trilogy in points and his fearsome skills on the perimeter made players think twice about giving daylight. Andre Emmett and 3 Headed Monsters’ Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf tied for second.

Ricky Davis received the inaugural BIG Community Award for his service to local communities with the Ricky Davis Legacy Foundation. Ricky was joined by BIG3 players, coaches, and team members (in each of the ten BIG3 cities) in visiting homeless shelters, and encampments to deliver fresh produce, toiletries, and support to those who need it the most.
