College Football picks against the spread August 25, 2018! I am back for another season against the spread!

Can you believe that it’s been eight months already! I am back for another college football season, picking every game against the spread! Not rain, snow, sleet, hail, lack of internet access, vacations, doctor visits, or acts of God can keep me from making the picks. ALL of them. No exceptions!

More from College Football Odds

I still haven’t watched the damn Rose Bowl. It was that painful to listen to on the radio. I just haven’t brought myself to watch it. I will have to before next weekend. I need the space on the DVR for the upcoming smorgasbord of College Football. Nothing beats week 1, when College Football has the football landscape to itself.

Week 1 just isn’t enough though! The Gods of football have gifted us two games this Saturday. Of course there are more, but for my purposes, I only pick games between FBS schools. It’s too hard to get an accurate spread with FCS teams involved.

For those of you that are new to this, I pick every college football game every week. Not a top five. Not a top ten. All of them. Big deal, right? Lots of people make picks. Well, I do them all against the spread! I take the odds of each game and average them out at all the Vegas casinos and round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football.

I also assign a point value based on the confidence I have in each pick. 1 means that I have little to no confidence. 5 is one I would place a decent wager on. I keep track of my record and my points back from year to year. I went 400-75 last season and ended up with 31 points in my point bank. I am aiming for 55% this year. It’s harder than it looks!

This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for the loss of money, possessions, spouses, or limbs because of my picks. I can’t have that on my conscious.

Without further delay, here are the picks for this week. I’ve waited more than eight months for this!

Wyoming(-3.5) at New Mexico State(2): No one really knows what to do with the Cowboys post Josh Allen. Vegas certainly doesn’t. This opened at -6 in most places and is down to -3 in some. Leading receiver C.J. Jackson is out, so freshman Tyler Vander Waal will be without Wyoming’s leading receiver from last year. It shouldn’t matter. This isn’t a fluke. Craig Bohl put Carson Wentz and Josh Allen in the pros recently. Vander Waal is the next protege. Rocket Ismail Jr. is also on this team. Those of you that remember watching his dad know how special he could be!

New Mexico State went to – and won – a bowl game last year for the first time in over half a century. The bad news is that QB Tyler Rogers and superback Larry Rose III both graduated. Both teams could struggle offensively initially, but Wyoming figures it out first. Give me the Cowboys.

Hawaii at Colorado State(-14.5)(1): Hawaii is horrid on the mainland, but I really don’t like that half. The issue here is that a lot of the Hawaiian players are from Hawaii, a place that they may not even recognize when they get home with Hurricane Lane wreaking havoc on their home state. That weighs heavily, and you can understand if football is one of the last things on their minds. Give me Colorado State.
