Fantasy Football owners get good news with Odell Beckham Jr.’s new deal which takes away some distractions and lets him focus on football.

It’s been over a year since Odell Beckham Jr. let it be know that he wanted a new deal with the New York Giants. He wanted more long-term security while also seeing his salary set the market for the wide receiver position.

The reported new contract for Beckham Jr. should make him the highest paid receiver and one happy camper.

This is obviously great news for the Giants, but it’s also excellent news for fantasy football owners. Beckham Jr. now heads into the regular season without distractions and more motivated than every to prove he’s worth the money.

The Giants are a team that could potentially have a quick turnaround. They are getting playmakers like Beckham Jr. back from injury and have added Saquon Barkley.

Eli Manning’s numbers were a little down last year, but there seems to be a new sense of optimism surrounding the team. Getting Beckham Jr. a new deal will only increase the positive vibes.

The presence of Evan Engram should help Beckham Jr. in the long run. Engram is someone who attacks the seam and gets the attention of the safeties. This makes it tougher for opposing defenses to heavily shift coverage to Beckham Jr.’s side of the field.

Fantasypros has Beckham Jr. at No. 12 in average draft position. He comes in as the third drafted receiver behind Antonio Brown and DeAndre Hopkins. Look for this news to have a slight impact on his average draft position.

It isn’t a hard sell to push Beckham Jr. over Hopkins in your rankings. Beckham Jr. has more flair to his game and people tend to remember his acrobatic catches. It’s the small things like this that can impact a fantasy draft.
