Daniel Craig – Liverpool

Daniel Craig is most famously known for portraying 007 in the last four James Bond movies. He’s one of Hollywood’s most recognizable actors, and he’s also a massive Liverpool fan.

Despite living in London, Craig’s team of choice comes from a more northern region of England. He got the chance to meet some of Liverpool’s best and brightest when the team played against Manchester City in America last summer. Craig posed for pictures with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, among others.

Craig has also attended games at Anfield over the years. He could be seen at a game in April of 2017 against Everton singing the famous anthem, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” prior to the game.

Some have criticized Craig for his open support of the Reds. TalkSPORT presenter Mike Parry remarked last year that James Bond belongs to the whole of England and therefore should be neutral as a supporter when it comes to soccer clubs. Parry said that while Daniel Craig is free to support whoever he pleases, he is a representative of the James Bond character, and that James Bond has no affiliation to any particular team.

Parry was sent several replies on Twitter by fans of both Liverpool and the James Bond character. The fans reminded him that Bond is a fictional character, one that only exists on screen and in the films Craig portrays him in.

The debate of who should eventually succeed Craig as James Bond continues to rage on, but as a Liverpool fan, Craig had his own choice of a potential replacement: Steven Gerrard.
