After being traded to the Chicago Bears on Saturday, Khalil Mack inked a record-setting extension with his new team.

What a Saturday is has been for superstar Khalil Mack. The premier edge defender in the NFL was traded from the Oakland Raiders to the Chicago Bears in one of the largest deals of its kind in NFL history.

Mack had been holding out from the Raiders until he got a new contract and Oakland decided to the shock of everyone that they were going to trade him. The Bears paid a steep price but added one of the best in the game to a defense that is already loaded with some studs.

After trading for Mack, an extension was certainly going to be next. Just days after Aaron Donald signed the highest deal for a defensive player in league history, Mack’s new team made sure to set the record.

According to Adam Schefter, the Bears and Mack agreed to a deal that is worth $141 million over six years, including $90 million guaranteed, which tops the $87 million in guarantees that Donald received from the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week.

Even better for Mack, he gets a whole lot of cash up front with $60 million headed his way at the time of his signing. Needless to say, it’s been a wild day for Mack and he’s now locked in long-term with his new team.

The Bears decided that they were going to make a bold move and now they have plenty to be excited about in the future with Mack joining the likes of Leonard Floyd, Roquan Smith, Akiem HIcks, Kyle Fuller and others on a defense led by guru coordinator Vic Fangio.

This saga was one that was going to end with Mack getting paid big money and in the end, the Raiders chose not to pay him. Instead, he’ll now be part of the new monsters of the midway in Chicago.
