See where and when to tune in as the top two NASCAR series tango with The Lady in Black on NASCAR Throwback Weekend.

Labor Day weekend can be sort of bittersweet. It’s the unofficial end of the summer, which is sort of a bummer. But it’s also the start of other cool stuff, including college football, and for NASCAR fans, it’s one of the best weekends of the year: NASCAR Throwback Weekend, to be specific, with a pair of races at Darlington Raceway.

The venerable egg-shaped oval will host both the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series for the Bojangles’ Southern 500, and the XFINITY Series too. In both races, you’ll see cars, drivers and crews paying homage to the stars of yesteryear with a variety of paint scheme tributes, throwback uniforms and more.

It’s a theme that all of the sport has really seemed to embrace, and the racing at Darlington usually isn’t half bad either. Adding to the excitement is the fact that time is running out for drivers to win their way into the playoffs or lock up spots on points, and if you manage to claim a berth at The Track Too Tough to Tame, you’ve certainly earned it.

dark. Next. Are there lots of secret Rowdy fans lurking out there?

Naturally, you’re likely busy with parties and family over the holiday weekend, but you might want to make some time to take in what’s going on at Darlington. Here’s a look at all the televised race action and where to find it all:

Saturday, Sept. 1

  • NASCAR Xfinity Series Pole Qualifying, 12:35 p.m., NBCSN
  • Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Busch Pole Qualifying, 2:00 p.m., NBCSN
  • NASCAR Xfinity Series Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200, 3:30 p.m., NBC

Sunday, Sept. 2

  • Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500, 6:00 p.m., NBCSN

The big thing to remember this weekend that might be counterintuitive is that the XFINITY Series race on Saturday is on network TV but the Cup Series race Sunday night is on cable. You can blame football for that, but in any case, make sure to catch up with all the latest from Darlington right here at FanSided.com.
