Needing a point guard, the Phoenix Suns are doing everything they can to put together a trade package that would net them, Terry Rozier.

Terry Rozier is focused on trying to ready himself for the grind of the 2018-19 NBA season, but the question on everyone’s mind is where will he be playing?

The Boston Celtics have him for now, but the Phoenix Suns are doing their best to make a trade for the breakout PG, according to The Sports Daily.

Phoenix is in this position because their point guard from a year ago, Elfrid Payton, decided to return home and join the New Orleans Pelicans. Devin Booker, who is, as of right now, the Suns best offensive player, can man the point guard role; but he is more of a natural fit at the shooting guard spot.

Add in the trade of Brandon Knight to the Houston Rockets, and the Suns now have a Grand Canyon-size hole at the point guard position. Rather than trying out Booker at the point (which would be a dumb move), the Suns front office is making phone calls to teams who may need to off-load a lead guard.

They don’t want any point guard, the Suns want a top-flight PG who can anchor a future Big Three with Booker and first-round pick Deandre Ayton. Now, obviously, they could test the water with Damian Lillard, who is not a happy camper in Portland right now, but Rozier may be the better bet.

Next. 76ers may gamble on Jamal Crawford. dark

When Kyrie Irving went down toward the end of last season, Rozier exploded onto the scene and show the NBA world that he could be a starting point guard. The problem is he would have the room to do it in Boston, which makes Phoenix attractive.

Can the Suns put together a deal to bring Rozier to the desert? One can only watch and see.
