The 2018 college football season is finally underway and there will be plenty of movement in the Week 2 AP Top 25 which will be released Tuesday.

Can you believe it? The college football season is finally here. The sounds of pads crunching against one another, whistles ringing through the air and coaches screaming at the officials and their own players, pretty much equally, are heard throughout the air.

The first week of the season wasn’t without down-to-the-wire action which may have cost a few teams their spots in the AP Top 25 or just a chance at breaking into the top 10 for the first few weeks.

There were a couple of intriguing matchups in the first weekend, most notably the Washington versus Auburn game in the annual Chick-fil-A Kickoff in Atlanta. The No. 9 vs. No. 6 matchup didn’t disappoint as the Tigers were able to sneak out a close win over the Huskies in one of the best games we’ll see all year.

A little further north, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, ranked 12th, took down No. 14 Michigan in a rivalry renewed. The game went down to the wire, as everyone expected, but Michigan’s offense didn’t look much better despite adding Shea Patterson to the roster.

There are a couple of ranked matchups on Sunday and Monday in this Labor Day opening weekend, but it’s never too early to take a stab at the projected AP Top 25.

Here’s what the AP Top 25 should look like come Tuesday afternoon when the Week 2 polls come out.
