The New England Patriots had a very disappointing end to their 2017 NFL season, as they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII. Tom Brady had a monster game, and won the MVP of the regular season, so there is no reason to start to think about him retiring in the next year or two.

When it comes to the roster, the Patriots continue to bring in veteran talent, and they should be  the favorite to win the AFC once again heading into the season. They are by far the best team in their division, and when Brady gets into the playoffs, he has proven to be one of the hardest quarterbacks to beat in league history.

In the 2019 NFL Draft, the Patriots should take his successor in the first round, and Will Grier from West Virginia is a guy who is going to be a very good pro. He was once the top quarterback in the country during his high school days, and although he had some issues at Florida, he has really come on for the Mountaineers, and should be in for a monster season in 2018.

Despite the fact that Brady has been able to stave off Father Time, the Patriots do not want to be in a situation where they have no-one to succeed him when his game eventually starts to turn in the wrong direction. Grier is a very  talented quarterback, and if he can learn from Brady for a year or two, he should be able to take over the reins in New England.
